Peristiwa hanya berlangsung beberapa jam, setelah itu keadaan kembali normal. Umumnya fenomena alam ini berdampak pada orbit satelit. Namun menurut Djamaluddin sejauh ini belum ada laporan gangguan pada satelit.

"Manusia di Bumi dan perangkat teknologi yang digunakannya aman dari dampak badai Matahari, betapa pun kuatnya. Karena Bumi dilindungi magnetosfer atau lapisan magnet dan terlindungi dari radiasinya karena ada atmosfer," jelas alumnus Universitas Kyoto, Jepang, ini.
